95.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravi Sharma grabbed a total of 1,17,873 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Sita Ram Kushwaha got 62,095 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Rahul Rai bagged 51,242 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 48.9%, 25.7% and 21.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravi Sharma beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Sita Ram Kuswaha by 8,080 votes.
