Kalpi is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Jalaun district. People of Kalpi voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,77,546 registered voters for Kalpi assembly seat, out of which 2,09,570 were male and 1,67,976 were female voters. 0.6% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 10 candidates in the fray from Kalpi constituency. Kalpi was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Ku. Narendra Pal Singh comfortably winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Chhote Singh by a huge margin of 51,484 votes.
94.1% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ku. Narendra Pal Singh grabbed a total of 1,05,988 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Chhote Singh got 54,504 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Umakanti bagged 53,160 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 46.7%, 24.0% and 23.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Umakanti outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Sanjay Singh by 6,650 votes.
