Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajesh Kumar Singh (CHUNNU) got a total of 76,307 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Aneesurrehman secured 73,959 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohd. Nasir grabbed the third spot with 43,820 votes. The top three parties got 30.3%, 29.4% and 17.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Peace Party's Aneesurrehman beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Rizwan Ahmad Khan by 1,534 votes.
