Uttar Pradesh Election: Karhal Assembly Constituency 2022

Karhal comes under the Mainpuri district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Karhal voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,55,384 registered voters for Karhal assembly seat, out of which 1,93,909 were male and 1,61,475 were female voters. 0.3% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Karhal constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Karhal was one of 47 seats won by the Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party's Sobaran Singh Yadav won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Rama Shakya by a margin of 38,405 votes.

The top three candidates split 95.4% of votes between them. Samajwadi Party's Sobaran Singh Yadav got a total of 1,04,221 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Rama Shakya secured 65,816 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Dalvir grabbed the third spot with 29,676 votes. The top three parties got 49.8%, 31.5% and 14.2% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Sobaran Singh Yadav defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Jaivir Singh by 30,943 votes.
