Uttar Pradesh Election: Kasganj Assembly Constituency 2022

Kasganj is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Etah district. People of Kasganj voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,45,705 registered voters for Kasganj assembly seat, out of which 1,87,747 were male and 1,57,958 were female voters. 0.6% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 10 candidates in the fray from Kasganj constituency. Kasganj was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Devendra Singh Rajput comfortably winning the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Hasrat Ullah Shervani by a huge margin of 52,030 votes.

The top three candidates split 86.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Devendra Singh Rajput got a total of 1,01,908 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Hasrat Ullah Shervani secured 49,878 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ajay Chaturvedi grabbed the third spot with 37,818 votes. The top three parties got 46.7%, 22.9% and 17.3% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Man Pal Singh beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Hasrat Ullah Sherwani by 10,179 votes.
