Uttar Pradesh Election: Khaga Assembly Constituency 2022

Khaga comes under the Fatehpur district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Khaga voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,23,590 registered voters for Khaga assembly seat, out of which 1,75,571 were male and 1,48,019 were female voters. 1.2% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In 2017, 6 candidates were competing for Khaga assembly constituency seat. Khaga was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Krishna Paswan comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Om Prakash Gihar by a huge margin of 56,434 votes.

95.1% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Krishna Paswan grabbed a total of 94,954 votes, while Indian National Congress's Om Prakash Gihar got 38,520 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Sunil Kumar bagged 38,359 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 52.5%, 21.3% and 21.2% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Krishna Paswan beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Murli Dhar by 18,922 votes.
