Khair is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Aligarh district. People of Khair voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 10 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,75,739 registered voters for Khair assembly seat, out of which 2,02,612 were male and 1,73,127 were female voters. 0.4% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 10 candidates in the fray from Khair constituency. Khair was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Anoop comfortably winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Rakesh Kumar Maurya by a huge margin of 70,721 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Anoop got a total of 1,24,198 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Rakesh Kumar Maurya secured 53,477 votes. Rashtriya Lok Dal's candidate Om Pal Singh grabbed the third spot with 41,888 votes. The top three parties got 53.9%, 23.2% and 18.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Rashtriya Lok Dal's Bhagwati Prasad beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajrani by 38,774 votes.
