88.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sant Prasad grabbed a total of 71,492 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajkumar got 51,413 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Rupawati Beldar bagged 42,085 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 38.5%, 27.7% and 22.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Sant Prasad defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Ram Samujh by 10,231 votes.
