It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Vijendra Singh comfortably winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Arjun Singh by a huge margin of 64,299 votes.
96.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vijendra Singh grabbed a total of 1,19,493 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Arjun Singh got 55,194 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Banshi Singh bagged 53,084 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 50.8%, 23.5% and 22.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Banshi Singh Pahadiya defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Horam Singh by 37,304 votes.
