Uttar Pradesh Election: Koil Assembly Constituency 2022

Koil is the assembly constituency which comes under the Aligarh district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Koil was held on February 10 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Koil assembly seat had 3,63,039 registered voters. Of the, 1,94,029 were male and 1,69,010 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 13 candidates were competing for Koil assembly constituency seat. Koil was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Anil Parashar comfortably winning the election defeating Samajwadi Party's Shaz Ishaq Urf Ajju Ishaq by a huge margin of 50,963 votes.

The top three candidates split 77.2% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Anil Parashar got a total of 93,814 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Shaz Ishaq Urf Ajju Ishaq secured 42,851 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Vivek Bansal grabbed the third spot with 38,623 votes. The top three parties got 41.3%, 18.9% and 17.0% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Zameer Ullah Khan beat Indian National Congress's Vivek Bansal by 599 votes.
