Uttar Pradesh Election: Kushinagar Assembly Constituency 2022

Kushinagar is the assembly constituency which comes under the Kushinagar district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Kushinagar will be held on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Kushinagar assembly seat had 3,54,919 registered voters. Of the, 1,94,816 were male and 1,60,103 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 10 candidates were competing for Kushinagar assembly constituency seat. Kushinagar was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajnikant Mani Tripathi comfortably winning the election defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajesh Pratap Rav Alias Banti Bhaiya by a huge margin of 48,103 votes.

95.6% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajnikant Mani Tripathi grabbed a total of 97,132 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajesh Pratap Rav Alias Banti Bhaiya got 49,029 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Brahmashankar Tripathi bagged 46,369 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 48.2%, 24.4% and 23.0% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Bramhashankar Tripathi defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Jawed Iqbal by 23,688 votes.
