Laharpur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Sitapur district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Laharpur will be held on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.
Laharpur assembly constituency had 3,39,713 electors in 2017, out of which 1,81,179 were male voters and 1,58,534 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.
In 2017, 13 candidates were contesting for Laharpur assembly constituency seat. Laharpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Suneel Verma winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Mo. Jasmeer Ansari by a margin of just 9,118 votes.
95.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Suneel Verma grabbed a total of 79,467 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Mo. Jasmeer Ansari got 70,349 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Anil Kumar Verma bagged 67,102 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 35.1%, 31.0% and 29.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Mo. Jasmir Ansari beat Indian National Congress's Anil Kumar Verma by 17,672 votes.
