98.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bahujan Samaj Party's Azad Ari Mardan grabbed a total of 72,715 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Daroga Prasad Saroj got 70,488 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Bechai Saroj bagged 54,196 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 36.1%, 35.0% and 26.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Bechai defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Hira Lal Gautam by 11,012 votes.
