The top three candidates split 98.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Reeta Joshi got a total of 95,402 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Aparna Yadav secured 61,606 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Yogesh Dixit grabbed the third spot with 26,036 votes. The top three parties got 51.2%, 33.1% and 14.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Suresh Chandra Tiwari by 21,753 votes.
