Uttar Pradesh Election: Lucknow Central Assembly Constituency 2022

Lucknow Central comes under the Lucknow district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Lucknow Central voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,66,950 registered voters for Lucknow Central assembly seat, out of which 1,97,126 were male and 1,69,824 were female voters. 0.2% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In 2017, 17 candidates were contesting for Lucknow Central assembly constituency seat. Lucknow Central was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Brijesh Pathak winning the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Ravidas Mehrotra by a margin of just 5,094 votes.

The top three candidates split 90.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Brijesh Pathak got a total of 78,400 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Ravidas Mehrotra secured 73,306 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Rajeev Srivastava grabbed the third spot with 24,313 votes. The top three parties got 40.4%, 37.7% and 12.5% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ravidas Mehrotra beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Vidya Sagar Gupta by 22,732 votes.
