In 2017, the Madhuban assembly seat had 3,77,924 registered voters. Of the, 2,05,518 were male and 1,72,406 were female voters. 0.2% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Madhuban constituency had 21 candidates for assembly seat contention. Madhuban was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dara Singh Chauhan won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Amresh Chand by a margin of 29,415 votes.
92.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dara Singh Chauhan grabbed a total of 86,238 votes, while Indian National Congress's Amresh Chand got 56,823 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Umesh Pandey bagged 54,803 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.4%, 26.6% and 25.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Umesh Pandey outperformed Samajwadi Party's Rajendra Mishra by 1,356 votes.
