94.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Jaimangal grabbed a total of 1,25,154 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Nirmesh Mangal got 56,793 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Alok Prasad bagged 50,217 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 51.2%, 23.2% and 20.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Sudama outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Nirmesh Mangal by 36,155 votes.
