Uttar Pradesh Election: Mahmoodabad Assembly Constituency 2022

Mahmoodabad comes under the Sitapur district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Mahmoodabad voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.

Mahmoodabad assembly constituency had 2,90,917 electors in 2017, out of which 1,58,064 were male voters and 1,32,853 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.

What happened last time

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Mahmoodabad constituency had 6 candidates for assembly seat contention. Mahmoodabad was one of 47 seats won by the Samajwadi Party. It was an extremely close fight, with Samajwadi Party's Narendra Singh Verma winning the election defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Asha Maurya by a narrow margin of 1,906 votes.

The top three candidates split 98.7% of votes between them. Samajwadi Party's Narendra Singh Verma got a total of 81,469 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Asha Maurya secured 79,563 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Pradyumn Verma grabbed the third spot with 45,050 votes. The top three parties got 39.0%, 38.1% and 21.6% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Narendra Singh Verma beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Ahmad Anshari by 19,589 votes.
