Majhawan is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Mirzapur district. People of Majhawan voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 7 and the results was declared on March 10.
Majhawan assembly constituency had 3,76,678 electors in 2017, out of which 1,98,971 were male voters and 1,77,707 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 18 candidates in the fray from Majhawan constituency. Majhawan was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Shuchismita Maurya won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramesh Chand Bind by a margin of 41,159 votes.
The top three candidates split 91.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Shuchismita Maurya got a total of 1,07,839 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramesh Chand Bind secured 66,680 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Rohit Shukla grabbed the third spot with 44,212 votes. The top three parties got 45.2%, 28.0% and 18.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramesh Chand defeated Samajwadi Party's Rajendra Prasad by 9,729 votes.
