Manikpur comes under the Chitrakoot district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Manikpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,25,686 registered voters for Manikpur assembly seat, out of which 1,78,285 were male and 1,47,401 were female voters. 1.1% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 14 candidates were competing for Manikpur assembly constituency seat. Manikpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's R.K. Singh Patel comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Sampat Pal by a huge margin of 44,464 votes.
The top three candidates split 82.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's R.K. Singh Patel got a total of 84,988 votes, while Indian National Congress's Sampat Pal secured 40,524 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Chandrabhan Singh Patel grabbed the third spot with 32,498 votes. The top three parties got 44.5%, 21.2% and 17.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Chandrabhan Singh Patel outperformed Samajwadi Party's Shyamacharan Gupta by 3,697 votes.
