Uttar Pradesh Election: Manjhanpur Assembly Constituency 2022

Manjhanpur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Kaushambi district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Manjhanpur was held on February 27 and the results was declared on March 10.

Manjhanpur assembly constituency had 3,78,420 electors in 2017, out of which 2,07,397 were male voters and 1,71,023 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.0% votes.

What happened last time

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Manjhanpur constituency had 6 candidates for assembly seat contention. Manjhanpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Lal Bahadur winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Indrajeet Saroj by a margin of just 4,160 votes.

The top three candidates split 98.0% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Lal Bahadur got a total of 92,818 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Indrajeet Saroj secured 88,658 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Hemant Kumar Tunnu grabbed the third spot with 33,717 votes. The top three parties got 42.3%, 40.4% and 15.3% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Indrajeet Saroj outperformed Samajwadi Party's Shiv Mohan Chaudhary by 4,182 votes.
