Mankapur comes under the Gonda district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Mankapur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,18,833 registered voters for Mankapur assembly seat, out of which 1,72,488 were male and 1,46,345 were female voters. 0.9% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 10 candidates in the fray from Mankapur constituency. Mankapur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Ramapati Shastri comfortably winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramesh Chandra by a huge margin of 60,161 votes.
96.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ramapati Shastri grabbed a total of 1,02,862 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramesh Chandra got 42,701 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Ram Bishun Azad bagged 24,695 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 58.2%, 24.2% and 14.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Babulal defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramesh Chandra by 27,170 votes.
