Marhara is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Etah district. People of Marhara voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.
Marhara assembly constituency had 2,96,194 electors in 2017, out of which 1,59,954 were male voters and 1,36,240 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Marhara constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Marhara was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Virendra won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Amit Gaurav by a margin of 33,432 votes.
96.6% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Virendra grabbed a total of 92,507 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Amit Gaurav got 59,075 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Shalabh Maheshwari bagged 31,966 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 48.7%, 31.1% and 16.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Amit Gaurav beat Jan Kranti Party(Rashtrawadi)'s Virendra by 22,256 votes.
