Uttar Pradesh Election: Mau Assembly Constituency 2022

Mau is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Mau district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Mau will be held on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Mau assembly seat had 4,42,251 registered voters. Of the, 2,38,901 were male and 2,03,350 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 14 candidates were contesting for Mau assembly constituency seat. Mau was one of 19 seats won by the Bahujan Samaj Party. It was a close contest with Bahujan Samaj Party's Mukhtar Anshari winning the election upstaging Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party's Mahendra Rajbhar by a margin of just 8,698 votes.

The top three candidates split 97.2% of votes between them. Bahujan Samaj Party's Mukhtar Anshari got a total of 96,793 votes, while Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party's Mahendra Rajbhar secured 88,095 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Altaf Ansari grabbed the third spot with 72,016 votes. The top three parties got 36.6%, 33.3% and 27.2% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Quami Ekta Dal's Mukhtar Ansari outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Bheem Rajbhar by 5,904 votes.
