Mauranipur comes under the Jhansi district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Mauranipur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.
Mauranipur assembly constituency had 4,02,043 electors in 2017, out of which 2,14,186 were male voters and 1,87,857 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.9% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 10 candidates in the fray from Mauranipur constituency. Mauranipur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Biharilal Arya won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Dr.Rashmi Arya by a margin of 16,971 votes.
97.6% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Biharilal Arya grabbed a total of 98,905 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Dr.Rashmi Arya got 81,934 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Prageelal Ahirwar bagged 77,919 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 37.3%, 30.9% and 29.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Dr. Rashmi Arya beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajendra Rahul Ahirwar by 6,648 votes.
