It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Satya Prakash Agarwal comfortably winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Satendra Solanki by a huge margin of 76,619 votes.
96.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Satya Prakash Agarwal grabbed a total of 1,32,518 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Satendra Solanki got 55,899 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Ramesh Dhingra bagged 39,650 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 56.2%, 23.7% and 16.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Satya Prakash Agarwal ( Kailash Dairy Wale) defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Sunil Kumar Wadhwa by 3,613 votes.
