Uttar Pradesh Election: Mehnaun Assembly Constituency 2022
Mehnaun is the assembly constituency which comes under the Gonda district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Mehnaun was held on February 27 and the results was declared on March 10.
Mehnaun assembly constituency had 3,56,055 electors in 2017, out of which 1,94,147 were male voters and 1,61,908 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Mehnaun constituency. Mehnaun was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vinay Kumar won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Arshad Ali Khan by a margin of 36,378 votes.
The top three candidates split 85.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vinay Kumar got a total of 84,304 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Arshad Ali Khan secured 47,926 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Rahul Shukla grabbed the third spot with 42,526 votes. The top three parties got 41.1%, 23.4% and 20.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Nandita Shukla beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Arshad Ali Khan by 33,044 votes.
