Mirzapur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Mirzapur district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Mirzapur was held on March 7 and the results was declared on March 10.
Mirzapur assembly constituency had 3,85,048 electors in 2017, out of which 2,03,914 were male voters and 1,81,134 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Mirzapur constituency had 19 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mirzapur was one of them. The election for Mirzapur seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Ratnakar Mishr defeating Samajwadi Party's Kailash Chaurasiya by a huge margin of 57,412 votes.
94.2% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ratnakar Mishr grabbed a total of 1,09,196 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Kailash Chaurasiya got 51,784 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mo. Parvez Khan bagged 49,955 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 48.8%, 23.1% and 22.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Kailash Nath Chaurasiya defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Rang Nath Mishra by 22,299 votes.
