92.9% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Alka Rai got a total of 1,22,156 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Sibgatulla Ansari got 89,429 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Janak Kumar grabbed 9,910 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 53.6%, 39.2% and 4.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Quami Ekta Dal's Sibgatulla Ansari defeated Samajwadi Party's Rajesh Rai by 7,333 votes.
