Moradabad Nagar is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Moradabad district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Moradabad Nagar was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Moradabad Nagar assembly constituency had 4,70,755 electors in 2017, out of which 2,55,625 were male voters and 2,15,130 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.2% votes.

It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Ritesh Kumar Gupta winning the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Yusuf Ansari by a margin of just 3,193 votes.
88.3% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ritesh Kumar Gupta got a total of 1,23,467 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Yusuf Ansari got 1,20,274 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ateeq Ahmed Saifi grabbed 24,650 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 44.7%, 43.6% and 8.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Yusuf Ansari defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Ritesh Kumar Gupta by 20,238 votes.
