Moradabad Rural is the assembly constituency which comes under the Moradabad district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Moradabad Rural was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Moradabad Rural assembly constituency had 3,56,431 electors in 2017, out of which 1,93,261 were male voters and 1,63,170 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.2% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Moradabad Rural constituency had 17 candidates for assembly seat contention. Moradabad Rural was one of 47 seats won by the Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party's Haji Ikram Qureshi won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Hariom Sharma by a margin of 28,781 votes.
The top three candidates split 86.3% of votes between them. Samajwadi Party's Haji Ikram Qureshi got a total of 97,916 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Hariom Sharma secured 69,135 votes. Rashtriya Lok Dal's candidate Mohd Kamranul Haq grabbed the third spot with 23,404 votes. The top three parties got 44.4%, 31.3% and 10.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Shameemul Haq defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Suresh Chandra Saini by 22,736 votes.
