Rashtriya Lok Dal's candidate Mohd Kamranul Haq grabbed the third spot with 23,404 votes. The top three parties got 44.4%, 31.3% and 10.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Shameemul Haq defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Suresh Chandra Saini by 22,736 votes.
