Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Luxman Mourya bagged 44,489 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 36.9%, 36.6% and 23.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Shah Alam Urfa Guddu Jamali defeated Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav by 8,566 votes.
