Mungra Badshahpur comes under the Jaunpur district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Mungra Badshahpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 7 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Mungra Badshahpur assembly seat had 3,54,014 registered voters. Of the, 1,90,221 were male and 1,63,793 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 13 candidates in the fray from Mungra Badshahpur constituency. Mungra Badshahpur was one of 19 seats won by the Bahujan Samaj Party. It was a close contest with Bahujan Samaj Party's Sushma Patel winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Seema Dwivedi by a margin of just 5,920 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.2% of votes between them. Bahujan Samaj Party's Sushma Patel got a total of 69,557 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Seema Dwivedi secured 63,637 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Ajay Shankar Dubey grabbed the third spot with 59,288 votes. The top three parties got 34.4%, 31.5% and 29.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Seema defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramesh by 6,061 votes.
