Uttar Pradesh Election: Nagina Assembly Constituency 2022
Nagina is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bijnor district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Nagina was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Nagina assembly seat had 3,28,570 registered voters. Of the, 1,75,092 were male and 1,53,478 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In 2017, 14 candidates were contesting for Nagina assembly constituency seat. Nagina was one of 47 seats won by the Samajwadi Party. It was a close contest with Samajwadi Party's Manoj Kumar Paras winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Omwati Devi by a margin of just 7,967 votes.
The top three candidates split 94.0% of votes between them. Samajwadi Party's Manoj Kumar Paras got a total of 77,145 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Omwati Devi secured 69,178 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Virendra Pal grabbed the third spot with 49,693 votes. The top three parties got 37.0%, 33.2% and 23.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Manoj Kumar Paras defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Omwati Devi by 26,546 votes.
