Nawabganj is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bareilly district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Nawabganj was held on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
Nawabganj assembly constituency had 3,15,046 electors in 2017, out of which 1,70,854 were male voters and 1,44,192 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 12 candidates in the fray from Nawabganj constituency. Nawabganj was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kesar Singh won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Bhagwat Saran Gangwar by a margin of 39,142 votes.
86.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kesar Singh grabbed a total of 93,711 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Bhagwat Saran Gangwar got 54,569 votes. Ittehad-E-Millait Council's candidate Shaila Tahir bagged 36,761 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.9%, 25.6% and 17.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Bhagwat Saran Gangwar beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Usha Gangwar by 17,719 votes.
