Nehtaur comes under the Bijnor district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Nehtaur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Nehtaur assembly seat had 2,86,393 registered voters. Of the, 1,53,050 were male and 1,33,343 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Nehtaur constituency. Nehtaur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Omkumar won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Munnalal Premi by a margin of 23,151 votes.
94.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Omkumar grabbed a total of 76,644 votes, while Indian National Congress's Munnalal Premi got 53,493 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Vivek Singh bagged 47,059 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 41.0%, 28.6% and 25.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Om Kumar beat Samajwadi Party's Raj Kumar by 19,398 votes.
