Uttar Pradesh Election: Nighasan Assembly Constituency 2022
Nighasan is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kheri district. People of Nighasan voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Nighasan assembly seat had 3,27,479 registered voters. Of the, 1,78,531 were male and 1,48,948 were female voters. 0.8% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Nighasan constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Nighasan was one of them. The election for Nighasan seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Ramkumar Verma defeating Samajwadi Party's Krishna Gopal Patel by a huge margin of 46,123 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Ramkumar Verma got a total of 1,07,487 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Krishna Gopal Patel secured 61,364 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Girjashankar Singh Alias G.S. Singh grabbed the third spot with 40,674 votes. The top three parties got 49.0%, 28.0% and 18.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Ajay defeated Samajwadi Party's R A Usmani by 31,039 votes.
