96.1% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Samajwadi Party's Alambadi grabbed a total of 67,274 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Chandra Dev Ram got 48,745 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Vinod Kumar Rai bagged 43,786 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.5%, 29.3% and 26.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Alambadi defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Kalamuddin Khan by 23,843 votes.
