Uttar Pradesh Election: Palia Assembly Constituency 2022
Palia comes under the Kheri district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Palia voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the results was declared on March 10.
Palia assembly constituency had 3,40,777 electors in 2017, out of which 1,82,416 were male voters and 1,58,361 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Palia constituency had 14 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Palia was one of them. The election for Palia seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Harvinder Kumar Sahani defeating Indian National Congress's Saif Ali Naqvi by a huge margin of 69,228 votes.
The top three candidates split 91.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Harvinder Kumar Sahani got a total of 1,18,069 votes, while Indian National Congress's Saif Ali Naqvi secured 48,841 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Virendra Kumar Agarwal grabbed the third spot with 43,436 votes. The top three parties got 51.4%, 21.3% and 18.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Harvindar Kumar Sahani Alias Romi Sahani beat Samajwadi Party's Krishna Gopal Patel by 5,919 votes.
