The top three candidates split 94.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Subhash Tripathi got a total of 1,02,254 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Mukesh Srivastava Alias Gyanendera Pratap secured 60,713 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohd. Mushraf grabbed the third spot with 29,122 votes. The top three parties got 50.3%, 29.9% and 14.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Mukesh Srivastava Alias Gyanendra Pratap beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Ajit Pratap Singh by 27,026 votes.
