Pharenda is the assembly constituency which comes under the Maharajganj district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Pharenda will be held on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Pharenda assembly seat had 3,33,563 registered voters. Of the, 1,82,373 were male and 1,51,190 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In 2017, 12 candidates were contesting for Pharenda assembly constituency seat. Pharenda was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Bajrang Bahadur Singh winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Virendra Chaudhary by a margin of just 2,354 votes.
The top three candidates split 94.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Bajrang Bahadur Singh got a total of 76,312 votes, while Indian National Congress's Virendra Chaudhary secured 73,958 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Vechan grabbed the third spot with 35,765 votes. The top three parties got 38.7%, 37.6% and 18.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Bajrang Bahadur Singh beat Indian National Congress's Virendra Chaudhary by 13,335 votes.
