Uttar Pradesh Election: Phulpur Assembly Constituency 2022

Phulpur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Allahabad district. People of Phulpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

Phulpur assembly constituency had 3,80,782 electors in 2017, out of which 2,12,300 were male voters and 1,68,482 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Phulpur constituency. Phulpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Praveen Kumar Singh won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Mansoor Alam by a margin of 26,613 votes.

The top three candidates split 95.2% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Praveen Kumar Singh got a total of 93,912 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Mansoor Alam secured 67,299 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohammed Masroor Shaikh grabbed the third spot with 50,421 votes. The top three parties got 42.2%, 30.3% and 22.7% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Sayeed Ahamad beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Praveen Patel by 7,900 votes.
