Uttar Pradesh Election: Pindra Assembly Constituency 2022
Pindra is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Varanasi district. People of Pindra voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.
Pindra assembly constituency had 3,42,525 electors in 2017, out of which 1,86,708 were male voters and 1,55,817 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 12 candidates in the fray from Pindra constituency. Pindra was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Avadhesh Singh won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Babulal by a margin of 36,849 votes.
95.6% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Avadhesh Singh grabbed a total of 90,614 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Babulal got 53,765 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Ajay Rai bagged 48,189 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.0%, 26.7% and 23.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Ajay outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Jai Prakash by 9,218 votes.
