Uttar Pradesh Election: Pratappur Assembly Constituency 2022

Pratappur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Allahabad district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Pratappur will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

Pratappur assembly constituency had 3,74,606 electors in 2017, out of which 2,04,995 were male voters and 1,69,611 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.

What happened last time

In 2017, 14 candidates were contesting for Pratappur assembly constituency seat. Pratappur was one of 19 seats won by the Bahujan Samaj Party. It was a close contest with Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohd Mujtaba Siddqui winning the election upstaging Apna Dal (Soneylal)'s Karan Singh by a margin of just 2,654 votes.

89.2% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohd Mujtaba Siddqui grabbed a total of 66,805 votes, while Apna Dal (Soneylal)'s Karan Singh got 64,151 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Vijama Yadav bagged 51,645 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 32.6%, 31.3% and 25.2% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Vijma Yadav defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohd.Mujtaba Siddiqi by 12,808 votes.
