Rampur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Rampur district. People of Rampur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Rampur assembly seat had 3,81,836 registered voters. Of the, 2,08,353 were male and 1,73,483 were female voters. 0.3% of votes were casted for NOTA.

The election for Rampur seat was comfortably won by Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Azam Khan defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Shiv Bahadur Saxena by a huge margin of 46,842 votes.
The top three candidates split 98.9% of votes between them. Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Azam Khan got a total of 1,02,100 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Shiv Bahadur Saxena secured 55,258 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Khan grabbed the third spot with 54,248 votes. The top three parties got 47.7%, 25.8% and 25.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Azam Khan defeated Indian National Congress's Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Khan by 63,269 votes.
