Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Azam Khan got a total of 1,02,100 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Shiv Bahadur Saxena secured 55,258 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Khan grabbed the third spot with 54,248 votes. The top three parties got 47.7%, 25.8% and 25.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Azam Khan defeated Indian National Congress's Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Khan by 63,269 votes.
