Bharatiya Janata Party's Kamlesh Shukla secured a total of 62,886 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Fasiha Manzer Ghazala Lari got 52,899 votes. Independent candidate Girijesh Alias Guddu Shahi bagged 41,814 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 33.0%, 27.8% and 22.0% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Choudhari Fasiha Bashir Alias Gajala Lari defeated independent candidate Girijesh Shahi Alias Guddu Shahi by 7,147 votes.
