Uttar Pradesh Election: Raniganj Assembly Constituency 2022
Raniganj is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Pratapgarh district. People of Raniganj voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
Raniganj assembly constituency had 3,15,820 electors in 2017, out of which 1,69,021 were male voters and 1,46,799 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In 2017, 18 candidates were contesting for Raniganj assembly constituency seat. Raniganj was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Abhay Kumar Alias Dhiraj Ojha won the election by defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Shakeel Ahmad Khan by a margin of 9,009 votes.
The top three candidates split 92.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Abhay Kumar Alias Dhiraj Ojha got a total of 67,031 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Shakeel Ahmad Khan secured 58,022 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Prof.Shivakant Ojha grabbed the third spot with 37,816 votes. The top three parties got 38.1%, 33.0% and 21.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Pro. Shivakant Ojha beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Mansha Ahmad by 12,604 votes.
