Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Poonam Sankhavar grabbed the third spot with 41,060 votes. The top three parties got 47.0%, 29.3% and 21.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Shiv Kumar Beria beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Nirmala Sankhawar by 16,835 votes.
