It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Manisha Anuragi comfortably winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Gayadeen Anuragi by a huge margin of 1,04,643 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party's Manisha Anuragi got a total of 1,47,526 votes, while Indian National Congress's Gayadeen Anuragi secured 42,883 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Anil Kumar Ahirwar grabbed the third spot with 38,710 votes. The top three parties got 62.1%, 18.1% and 16.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Gayadeen Anuragi outperformed Samajwadi Party's Ambesh Kumari by 36,137 votes.
