Uttar Pradesh Election: Rohaniya Assembly Constituency 2022

Rohaniya comes under the Varanasi district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Rohaniya voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.

Rohaniya assembly constituency had 3,79,237 electors in 2017, out of which 2,12,035 were male voters and 1,67,202 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.

What happened last time

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Rohaniya constituency had 12 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rohaniya was one of them. The election for Rohaniya seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Surendra Narayan Singh defeating Samajwadi Party's Mahendra Singh Patel by a huge margin of 57,553 votes.

91.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Surendra Narayan Singh grabbed a total of 1,19,885 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Mahendra Singh Patel got 62,332 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Pramod Kumar Singh bagged 30,531 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 51.8%, 26.9% and 13.2% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Apna Dal's Anupriya Patel outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Ramakant Singh by 17,583 votes.
